Budapest

Pizzica
After three plus hours in the train and a eight minute walk, we arrived at the Star Inn Hotel in Budapest. We just wondered around for a while and then planned the upcoming days... We ate at a small place called Pizzica and found a candy shop to visit ;)

Dance club we never went to ;(
Yesterday we went into full tourist-mode and went to see St Stephen's Basilica ( one of the worlds most photographed sights ) and crossed over the Danube river on the Chain-bridge and then walked all the way to the Margit bridge to cross again. We also visited the House of Terror... Kinda depressing experience... Along our long walk from one sight to another, we checked out a lot of shops and took a lot of pictures. We had some pizza again at Bistro Hid. There we met a nice waiter who was like "Hallelujah!" when we were finally ready to order. :D

Today we went to see the Gouba Bazaar, a lovely atmosphere and a lot of beautiful hand made stuff and great street musicians! From there we continued shopping along the streets and don't even really know where we ended up, but it was fun as hell and we ended up having our caricatures made by some really nice artist on the street. On the way back to the hotel we got some cakes from a nice little Cake Shop.

And tomorrow we're going back home! ;(

And the last parting gifts <3
It was an amazing experience but everything has to come to an end so a thousand thanks Sóstó Zoo and au revoir! We're gonna miss you! :)

Progress report

In a deep, exited whispering voice:

"We've successfully infiltrated into a community of Sóstó Zoo animal keepers. We've had many successful ( and some not so successful ) attempts to communicate with the local tribe and participate in their daily rituals."

"It's truly fascinating to observe as each little group care take for their own proteges day after day, keeping them safe and satisfied."

"Today we witnessed the daily rituals of the Monkey Keeper group and got an amazing opportunity to make closer acquaintance with their proteges. The bond between the keepers and proteges is something truly unique ( and off the record, something everyone should have a chance to experience for themselves! )."

"We've noted that the local eatables have taken us by surprise; they are mostly delicious and contain a large variety of ingredients ( chicken being the main choice of meat ). We have especially taken a liking to a dish called 'Hawaii Chicken'."

"We've also observed the life of another tribe in the nearby town and found the local architecture to be very colorful and refreshingly different to our world."

"Our time among these magnificent, kind and compassionate beings is almost at it's end and we are sad to say goodbye, but our return to civilization is essential for the Cause. We shall be returning to headquarters in a few weeks time to give our complete report to the Organization."

"Over and out."

Countdown!

Only two days of work left!!

Today we continued with the monkeys and the other monkey keeper. The routine was pretty much the same as always, just a few unexpected events took place.

The Fennec Fox was moved to a new permanent home at last, we helped with the reconstruction of the new enclosure and watched the fox settle down. We also took a new house to the De Barazza's Monkeys, took a long time to secure it in place though.

Sorry we don't have that much to say anymore, but that's pretty much thanks to nothing worth writing about happening. Our deepest apologies!

We're back!

The free days came and went without any interesting occurrences except Eurovision 2014!

And today we got to work with our favorite animal keeper. And found out that we will probably be working with the monkeys for the rest of our days. R.I.P. XD

Unfortunate events befell us today with the death of a horse who died in childbirth ( both mother and foal passed away ) and a baby Ring-tailed lemur was also found dead ( don't know COD yet ). Such a sad sight on this mothers day...

"Baby-Something" all grown ;(

But we did have very good moments as well today! Seeing again the baby Binturongs ( they had grown so much! ) and taking pictures with Bolivian Squirrel Monkeys ( who we named Jack and Diego since they kinda didn't have names ).

Over all it was a pretty nice day ( even though it rained almost all day and we got our share of Tigus spit again )!
Random art we pass by almost every day

Realizations

Nothing much happened today except: we met the other Ring-tailed lemurs today and got some pictures with them ( with King Julian ) <3

We suddenly realized that our time here is coming to an end soon... Weird... But were actually quite ready to return home to our own beloved fur balls. We miss them very much!

Here are some pics about today:

Lostness

This is what we saw while window cleaning
The day started out the same as yesterday ( without the office visit ); feeding the gorillas while they had their secret tea ceremony indoors, washing a whole lot of windows and then it got interesting... We kinda lost She-talks-to-us and used over an hour trying to find her... After we finally caught up with her, she just sent us away since she had nothing for us to do.

So we went to see the wolves and tigers yet again and got a free ride from the tour guy, really nice fella even though he doesn't speak a word of English... Lunch was a historical event; we got mashed potatoes for the first time since we got here! It was GOOOOOD! Just when we talked about missing it ;)

"Feet up"

After lunch we puzzled the bottles from yesterday and made some more paper ball puzzles. Then we ran out of work. The reason for this is simple; the Gorillas are too sensitive, the Penguins are too shy, the male Polar bear is aggressive and the Orangutans and Reindeer are just "don't come"... Nice ain't it?

But we got to go with Mr. Nickname again ( he was totally over the moon about it ); washing dishes, watching the Sea lion show and feeding the Seals <3 We totally missed those guys!!

Confusion

Jumba... or Bubu... We're not sure...
It's a beautiful day  dadaadaadaada. . .

We went by the office this morning ( as we have every Tuesdays ) and first they suggested we take the rest of the time to vacation around because "we have already worked with every group we can"... Then they thought we could repeat a week with some group we already worked with... And then a mysterious voice from above saved us and put us to use at with a new group after all ( containing at least Polar bears, Penguins, Reindeer, Orangutans and Gorillas ). And so begun our last week at Sóstó Zoo of Nyíregyháza.

What we actually did today was a lot of window cleaning ( who could have guessed? a talent we've mastered ever so well these past few weeks ), sweeping, prepping bottles and paper ball puzzles for primate use and serving ( scattering ) breakfast to the Gorillas while they were indoors enjoying their early morning tea. A pity we can't get closer acquainted with our new friends, since they are quite sensitive to new people.

Maya??

We worked with three people this time; the Twin-brother, Mr. Goldilocks and She-talks-to-us ( maybe you can guess who we get our directions from ). They seem really nice and they seemed to have so much fun finding out we were supposed to work with them ;D In fact, everyone seemed to have a lot of fun with it... We're thinking they had a bet on who gets us next and the trio lost it... We also saw Mr. Nickname today; "WOOOHOOOO! TUULIII, SUVII!! .... When are you leaving?". He's a nice guy, we like him. He's funny. :)

This is the "Book-keepers apprentice" ( he lives with the orangutan family)
